Hinderaker — A Kettle, Calling The Pot… Black.

This evening, John complains because the NYT calculated the odds of 1/96 incorrectly.

The paper said it was less than one per cent, when it is slightly more than one per cent.

It had to do with the rates of re-infection, in certain people given an older vaccine.

So, being wrong — as to the difference between just under one per cent, and just over one per cent… is largely meaningless.

From this error though, he declares no liberal can do math.

Uh-huh.

This is the hard right wing / white separatist who… declared that the dying was mostly over in July of 2020, in COVID.

He has now been proven wrong by… over a factor of ten fold.

Yeh — it is mediocre decrepit old whyte men who… can’t do math, buddie.

A Release Of Even These Redacted Affidavit Details… Will Be Deeply Damaging… To Tangerine’s False Narrative.

Of course, it is going to take a week at least (to August 25), as the government needs to offer its suggestions for redaction, first.

And if Trump has any competent counsel, and essentially the whole of the substantive factual representations are NOT blacked out… Trump will now oppose the release.

The able jurist in Miami just ruled that at least parts of the affidavits need to be released, consistent with news media right of access to judicial documents — in matters of substantial national importance.

But I write mostly to say that this will NEVER be helpful to Tangerine’s almost completely false narrative. Nope, the evidence there is going to be vast, and deeply incriminating — on intent to steal top secret documents. Charming.

Hinderaker Cannot Understand That His Egregious Lying Is Not… Dissent.

Onward, he whines… yet again, tonight.

Actually, Johnny, the CDC did a very good job, considering that its science was being largely hamstrung by Tangerine’s fecklessness.

Specifically, Trump refused to use the pandemic handbook assembled under BHO 45… due to his damnable ego.

But whatever John. Did you ever apologize for saying the dying was mostly over, as of July 19, 2020? Nearly 900,000 people died after that lie of yours.

Damn son.

Just How Dangerous Tangerine’s Ongoing Lies Are: Thousands Of His Acolytes Are Itching For Civil War 2.0.

I will contrast the deadly, lethal and truly sociopathic malevolence with the fairly light-hearted ditty at right.

But make no mistake Shiffer’s blood (and Kyle Fitzsimons’ coming 20 years in prison) are all directly the result of his lies, and are thus… on Kumquat Pol-Pot’s karmic tab.

This, according to multiple MSM outlets, a day after Trump lied about the warrant execution at his compound:

…On Truth Social, a social media platform founded by Trump’s media company, Trump Media & Technology Group, Shiffer appeared to have posted a message detailing his failed attempt to gain entry to the FBI building.

“Well, I thought I had a way through bullet proof glass, and I didn’t. If you don’t hear from me, it is true I tried attacking the F.B.I., and it’ll mean either I was taken off the internet, the F.B.I. got me, or they sent the regular cops while,” the account @RickyWShifferJr wrote at 9:29 a.m. ET, shortly after police allege the shooting occurred….

John Hinderaker: this is on your head, as well — each time you repeat lies about what actually went down there.

Out.

Starpharma Inks A Second, Extended Collaboration Agreement With Merck: High End Drug Discovery Technology

This post is cross-posted here in part due to the material in the last full paragraph, as a sober reminder… of just how difficult all of this actually is — if you are going to do it… right.

The Starpharma DEP approach is what a reality-based, rational, successful… software and wetware driven candidate identification and discovery effort looks like, in the 21st Century. Kudos, to Starpharma on this feather in its cap.

These dendrimers are constructed by the successive addition of layers to the branching groups. The synthesis of dendrimers involves a core molecule with branching groups to which other branching molecules are added in layers (see the progression of models, in bottom of the graphic, at right). These in turn are thought to be promising in a series of life-sciences therapeutic candidate arrays. But Starpharma can also synthesize them into materials science applications. Here’s the latest:

…Last year, Merck struck a deal to perform a preclinical evaluation of dendrimer-based ADCs made using Starpharma’s DEP delivery technology. The deal cleared Merck to take a close look at the fruits of a drug delivery platform that is designed to yield ADCs with greater homogeneity, site specific attachment and higher drug-antibody ratios than conventional candidates….

Merck has entered into a second deal that will enable it to test and characterize “a number” of DEP dendrimer conjugates designed and synthesized by Starpharma.

“We are very pleased to add this new DEP ADC program with MSD and to continue building on our partnership with them in such an innovative and valuable area. This new DEP program underlines the potential clinical and commercial value our DEP technology can deliver,” Starpharma CEO Jackie Fairley said in a statement….

By the way, what Starpharma actually achieves, in the early phases of designing these DEP dendrimer conjugate candidates, is what Martin Shkreli previously claimed his distributed computing project might be able to replicate.

Don’t. bet. on. it. Onward… grinning — ever grinning. Baby-grrls, tomorrow.

Julie Kelly Is Correct: Tangerine Will Be Indicted.

But that is all — her conclusion is deadly-accurate: you break the law often enough, eventually… you face the criminal justice machinery.

Not much novel or radical about any of that.

So I write only to note that every bit of sophistry she offers (from “the 1.6.21 rioters were mere tourists” — to Tangerine faces “only Mr. Obama’s acolytes in courts around the nation”) is just sadly beneath any standard of rational, fact based discourse.

She is a good candidate for the Federalist laughing stock weekly champ, though — so it’s not all bad.

Onward.

HR At Amazon — JFK8, Apparently Has A Lawyer Sit In On Investigation Interviews, To Claim Privilege Later…

And, to be clear, in the context of a claim by the employee of thwarting union organizing or association or advocating activities (for some odd reason that was uploaded to the NLRB website uncompressed, so it is an over 65 MB pdf file… the size of about a five minute video stream — and will take a bit if you are not on wi-fi)… the company CANNOT hide behind a claim of privilege, for such meeting notes documents, since the company is required to disclose its written records under Section 8 of the NLRA.

That is, the old saw of just willy-nilly “throwing company lawyers into” early HR / complainant investigative interview meetings… achieves very little, when the claim is a union-rights / NLRB- based one.

But in time, Mr. Bezos’ people will… wise up. After he pays tons of money for discovery violations, and loses the overall campaign to unionize over 1.5 million workers.

Sheesh.

Now, you know.

Tangerine ALREADY Has His Passports… Back. This Is… Just… Stupid.

When anyone ELSE is the target of a felony Espionage Act probe… and a full probable cause judge-issued warrant is executed by the FBI, one with authority to search and seize in every room of the TARGET’s residence… often, additional, non-relevant documents may be swept up.

They are almost ALWAYS returned — within days.

That is PRECISELY what happened to this espionage / felony indictment “target”. His passports are not proof of any “vendetta”. Damn, son… Damnation.

He’s physically received the passports back, already, morons. Just… sit down.

Being a target of the FBI is no fun. But the presumption of innocence is for the courtrooms only.

Nah, out here, on the streets — “the b!tch got eyes…” as Denzel reminds us, in “Philadelphia“.

In sum… sit down, Hinderaker. In time, a filter team will begin sorting through attorney client materials — in the segregated boxes. And it is possible that in the non-privileged boxes — federal AUSAs find enough evidence to convict, without them — and decide to return them, sealed and unopened — just to save time and expense.

In fact, that may be… likely, here. And exactly WHY the FBI segregated the atty-client junk, into its own pallet of boxes.

But good law enforcement practice it to… take it all, and seal it up.

Cheers, chuckleheads!

I Am Deeply Sorry, Mr. Bezos… That Compliance With Actual US Law Is So… Vexing. FTC Edition. [/Snark]

So, about 14 years ago, one “Fast” Fred Hassan, then at Schering-Plough’s helm, thought it a wise idea to attack a federal agency that regulated his industry, in an interview with the WSJ. We covered it, and expressed at the time, that he would soon reap the whirlwind, for trying to blame his obfuscations (about the Vytorin studies) on the FDA, itself.

Within two years, both he and Schering-Plough itself… were… GONE. That was no vendetta, it was the law being applied to a guy who thought he was above it. [Sound like familiar theme, here? Yep.]

Now, to be fair, though Fred walked away with close to $220 million, he was NOT a major controlling shareholder of old SGP. Bezos cannot so easily be shown the gate, by his shareholders — but he may well regret bringing what amounts to a negative ad campaign / PR offensive (using stenographers in the MSM) against the FTC, this week:

…Amazon has accused the US Trade Commission of harassing its top executives, including founder Jeff Bezos and chief executive Andy Jassy, as part of a probe into the ecommerce group’s Prime membership scheme.

Since March 2021, the regulator has been investigating whether Amazon uses deceptive techniques to lure customers into signing up for Prime, the subscription service that offers free delivery and other benefits at a cost of $139 a year.

The FTC is also examining whether Amazon unfairly complicates the process for customers who want to cancel their membership.

In a filing from August 5 that was made public by the regulator on Monday, Amazon said the investigation had become “unduly burdensome” on employees and executives after at least 19 were served individual subpoenas — or Civil Investigative Demands — to give evidence.

The company called for the FTC to “quash or limit” the demands, which it alleged served no other purpose other than to “harass Amazon’s highest-ranking executives and disrupt its business operations….”

The FTC’s investigation has been extended to four other Amazon subscription services including its ebook service Kindle Unlimited and music streaming platform Amazon Music….

Well — here’s a novel idea, Mr. Bezos… start complying with both the letter, and the spirit, of federal law… then we might… talk. Out, grinning. Ever grinning….
