But tonight, I want to amplify it, since Hinderaker regularly says blue cities like Chicago and nearby suburbs are “very poorly run“. Hah!
Hinderaker offers a chart tonight, which suggests where there may be elevated risk of brownouts or blackouts if it gets particularly hot this summer. Hilariously, Chicago, Milwaukee and the nearby suburbs of each will experience no such risk — even by his own admission. Nor will all of blue… New York (another place he claims is poorly run). And we all employ quite a bit of greener, renewable energy at the source.
So there’s that, John.
And there is the fact that the GOP intentionally hobbled Texas’s electricity grid about 24 years ago, to maximize the amount it could reap via Enron schemes — for wealthy legacy Texas oil families. [It privatized that pig trough, as all monopolists do.]
Note that most of the areas with severe issues burn coal or natural gas and oil, and thus are skewed to the GOP controlled areas in the South, and Southwest. That is not a coincidence.
These pigs are gouging small mom and pop consumers, and pocketing vast profits.
Hinderaker well-knows it — and he is fully complicit… with his lying.
This is not a problem of green energy. This is a problem of myopic GOP hubris and greed.
