EmptyWheel Points Out That No Press Clippings Exist, In The Warrant Returns — At ALL, After November 2020… Huh?!

Sure… as she ably points out, there could be an innocent explanation: maybe he already gave those specific, later dated boxes back at the June 2 in-house meeting (pre-search warrant).

Maybe he was so addled, after losing (after November 7, 2020), that he stopped cutting up newspapers, entirely. [Highly unlikely.]

Or… as BobCon points out (in comments, there):

It’s like an archaeological dig where you find among the rubble of a burned mill an accumulation of pennies with dates that stop at 1820. You get a good idea when the mill was burned and the operation was moved to a different site….

So — where are all the REST of the classified and top secret documents that one would expect to be shuffled in among his press clippings, as was his wont — in the absence of any sensible filing system? Shuffled in with clothing, and framed pictures….? Where?!

Buried in Ivana’s lead casket, at Bedminster, perhaps?!

I know it sounds… nutty — but I’d bet my last dollar… that somewhere — at one of his clubs, or at Jr.’s home… there are additional stashed national defense secret documents… for subsequent barter, sale or… blackmail.

DAMNATION. Damn. Damn.

It is… decidedly like the case of the dog that did NOT bark — or the clean, trackless front yard, on the morning after a snow — despite assertions that several people visited and looked in the windows — that prior snowy evening… without even a trace of foot-falls, in the yard, in the bright but frigid morning sunshine.

This. Is. Going. To. Get. Worse. Far. Worse.

In Which Scott Johnson… Whines, In A Deeply Ironic Fashion. [Buddies, Too!]

So… Scottie, and Johnnie, and Stevie: I guess it is only WRONG when a Democratic POTUS does it?!

Cool. Cool. Cool story bros, thanks for clearing that up. [Tangerine specifically demonized a sitting member of Congress, starting a chant of “send her back!” (to Puerto Rico), with the Marine guards, standing back, and standing by — on the White House lawn. The peoples’ house. Erh… Hatch Act, anyone?! But nary a peep from the three stooges, of Putin’s tom-foolery, at above right.]

My point is… Mr. Biden’s speech was a good one. An entirely fair — if political — one. It was in Philly, not at 1600 Penn, at right. It simply answered libelous, near insurrectionist themes that Tangerine has been flaming on about for weeks, now.

Significantly, Tangerine’s rhetoric recently required Ohio FBI agents to “halt, and catch fire” from one of his avowed supporters (before he killed himself), nearly live posting his attack on Trump’s own proprietary social platform.

The point is NOT just that Steve, Scott and John are hypocrites — though they certainly are — the point is that… someone has to start saying it: Trump is going to get more people than just Ashley Babbitt (ex-USAF) killed.

This insane obsession with his being the “actual” POTUS is dangerous, when coupled to his wildly libelous rhetoric at his “rallies” (with another one scheduled in rural Pennsylvania, tonight — near a hotbed of extremism).

And these boys would do well… to remember… that they too can be charged with inciting.

Damn, boys. Shut it.

And… A Decorated USAF Vet In Memphis Asks That The FL USDC Judges Stop Trump…

…from calling himself “President” in his own court filings. He doesn’t even call himself “former“.

This courageous vet — and I have the redacted his precise location details (given the MAGA propensity for violence against people with whom they disagree) — is incensed by the “treasonous / aid and comfort to undermining Democracy” tone of Trump’s stylings.

“We have one President at a time, and he is not it.”

The man — who has served his nation in ways Trump never did, and never will (putting his life on the line, in Vietnam) — is absolutely right.

And the lawyers signing Tangerine’s pleadings should be… ashamed.

He’s right about that as well.

Out.

Highly Likely Artemis Is A Wash-Out, Again This Morning… Ugh.

Just about five minutes ago, the NASA blog on Artemis posted a very short confirmation — that once AGAIN, the tanking operation has hit a snag.

Another hydrogen leak has been detected. This is a “no-go, for launch” condition, due to the obvious risk of explosions. I now think it likely that Monday’s potential for a launch window is scrubbed as well:

…After the third troubleshooting attempt, the liquid hydrogen leak has occurred again. Teams are discussing next steps….

Well… I am on record about this whole line of endeavor, but I never want to see… repeated failures in pre-launch rocket sequences. [I do wonder whether the private contractor has delivered a… busted rocket, though.]

Though to be certain, that is better than a post launch failure. By far.

[U] “They are human beings” — This Offends Hinderaker, The Knuckle-Walker…

This afternoon, Chicago’s Mayor drew the considerably loony ire of Hinderaker.

Her offense?

Calling out the Texas MAGA/GOP Gov. Abbot, in these terms, on busing asylum seekers to Chicago (some 1,000 miles away from their hearing dates — without a penny), and dumping them here — in the streets:

“…They’re not cargo. They’re not chattels. They’re human beings, just like you and me…”

That was what our Mayor said… precisely.

It enrages John for reasons… he will certainly… need to explain to his Creator, at his judgment day (since he believes in such things).

Me? I don’t really care to “know” why — as I’ve spent two decades watching… him.

And it is… obvious.

He’s a sad, embittered and nearly senile doddering mediocre frail old whyte geezer.

There was a time, two decades ago (when John still remembered how… to practice law) that a Governor involuntarily shipping people across the country, away from a hearing date, without means to return… would have troubled him. But no more — as he’s soft in the head now. It is funny though, that more undocumented people than before will now settle in the interior of the US, and have a solid defense to deportation made by the FACT that the “state” effectively deprived them of any asylum hearing, here.

One might even label that… ironic.

Bub-bye John.

Amazon Loses Round One, At NLRB Hearings — On JFK8 Union Vote…

The board’s hearing officer panel, sitting in Phoenix, has preliminarily determined that nothing will overcome the 2-1 win the ALU posted at JFK8, and so… collective bargaining should begin “immediately”.

For his part, Mr. Smalls plans a march to Mr. Bezos’ residence this weekend (Labor Day), since the company has already appealed this preliminary decision (per CNN):

…Amazon has lost the first round in its effort to overturn a historic union victory at a Staten Island facility.

A National Labor Relations Board officer who heard Amazon’s objections recommended that the vote be upheld….

Oh… my. How the sea has. . . changed. In just under… two short years… too.

Onward — grinning into a great long weekend with family far and wide… smile.

John’s Buddies At Sky Hosted Jared Kushner For a Classified Documents “Lie Fest”. Hinda-lar-ious.

Hinderaker — do take note: it is likely that Jared sold some of what he knew to the House of Saud, to get this latest infusion of capital for his private funds.

So — take all he says, about whether he’s seen Top Secret defense information with a truckload of salt. [In theory he was denied clearance, on the risk his felon father presents… but we all know that Ivanka would have whispered to him.]

Here’s the latest:

…“I think that it’s something that seems like it’s an issue of paperwork that should have been able to be worked out between DOJ and him,” Kushner said. “I don’t know what he did or what he didn’t take, but right now we’re relying on leaks to the media….”

Both of Kushner’s assertions in his answer to Burley, however, are misleading. News reports, publicly-released documents, and court filings show how the National Archives and the DOJ spent well over a year negotiating with Trump and his lawyers for the return of several boxes of classified and sensitive documents and obtained some via a grand jury subpoena.

And the key facts of the probe, including how many classified documents and other items the FBI found in its search of Mar-a-Lago, have not been “leaked” to the media, but publicly disclosed in the government’s filings in federal court….

C R A Z Y….

The whole lot of them: crooks — and Hinderaker is even worse, as he doesn’t even get paid for his lies to the Sky-folk.

Disgusting.

I Don’t Often Agree With Andrew McCarthy — But He’s FINALLY Agreeing That Trump Is In Deep Trouble Now…

Hinderaker should pay close attention. . . as the stupidity he has been spouting. . . is just very poorly reasoned. And. . . this is very bad for the GOP.

H I L A R I O U S. . . .

…There followed a June 3 meeting with government officials at Trump’s Florida estate. Contrary to the former president’s public claims that it was amicable, it was under duress. It took place pursuant to a grand jury subpoena in a criminal investigation….

As prosecutors point out, in addition to finding classified documents in Trump’s office, the FBI found 76 classified documents in storage room boxes — more than twice as many as Trump’s representatives produced on June 3 when they claimed there was nothing more to be found at the resort.

This is a serious obstruction case that appears as if it would not be difficult to prove.

The Justice Department is under immense pressure from the Democratic base to indict Trump, and the jury pool in Washington, DC, where the government would file any indictment, is intensely anti-Trump. It is thus hard to imagine that Attorney General Merrick Garland will decide against filing charges.

The best hope Trump has of avoiding an indictment is that Democrats would rather run against a wounded Trump in 2024 than indict him in 2022….

I don’t think the DoJ will wait that long, at all.

They are going to prosecute him — and win a felony conviction or 10 [And that would effectively be natural life, without parole, for Trump.].

Likely he will be wearing a jumpsuit by mid 2024.

Perfect.

Government’s Expert (Opinion) Witnesses… Will Bury Thomas Barrack, Coming 7-Count Felony Trial: September 19, 2022.

Overnight, the government filed a powerfully-argued memo of law / brief (30 pages), to make sure that the able USDC Judge allows its expert witnesses to opine on various matters related to Mr. Barrack’s crime spree, at the considerable cost (~$275 million), to us US taxpayers.

I offer it mostly as continuing legal education, and a primer — for the applicable federal law, when (not if) Donald Trump goes on trial for multiple felonies, and the government offers its experts on the notions of no “pixie dust” de-classifications — and what a national defense document is — and why even a former president may not possess one outside a secure facility:

…Specifically, the government expects to introduce evidence at trial that one of the actions that Barrack undertook as an agent of the UAE was to disclose non-public information to Al Malik and other UAE government officials indicating that language had been removed from the Republican National Convention party platform that had called for the declassification of the Declassified Pages. In disclosing this information to Al Malik and other UAE government officials, Barrack advised them that this undisclosed information about the foreign policy positions of the Republican Party was “[v]ery confidential” and “very sensitive,” but invited them to nonetheless share it with a senior UAE national security official….

Dr. Davidson’s testimony will contextualize this charged conduct by Barrack by informing the jury about the basic nature of the Declassified Pages as a high priority foreign policy issue at the time for both the UAE, as a close ally of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia itself. See Fed. R. Evid. 702(a). Without this context, the jury may not understand the nature of the Declassified Pages as they are referenced in the evidence produced by the government or their relevance to the UAE government officials to whom Barrack disclosed this sensitive, non-public information. Dr. Davidson can provide limited testimony on this subject that will sufficiently educate the jury while not unfairly prejudicing the Defendants….

Enjoy — and buckle up, butter-cup.

Tangerine’s time in the barrel is coming. . . smile.
