Who’da… Thunk It?! John — Directing Baseless “SLAP” Suits? I’m Shocked… [Not.]

For the at least the past seven days and nights, John has been dropping hints about “serious lawyers” taking on “serious cases” — to oppose COVID-19 containment measures, in Minnesota.

Except… that this is pretty much the opposite of… serious.

This is (in my experienced opinion) pure “publicity-hound” clap-trap stuff — SLAP-style suits brought primarily to harass public officials trying their level best to minimize a global pandemic.

His mother must be proud.

Just look at any of my last five posts — they link to excrement he wrote, threatening suits. Now he is suddenly a voting board of directors member of the non-sense imaged at above, right.

Gee… Who’da guessed?!

Right. I did.

These suits will be… dismissed. They run directly counter to the Governor’s near plenary police powers — in a pandemic.

Perhaps most importantly, there is no allegation that any one religious (or non-religious) group is being favored, or harmed — they apply without fear or favor, to all.

All just for show folks — to divide, and create chaos… since that is the only remaining chess piece… the Trumpian GOP has left, on the board.

I’ll just… laugh at him — and them.

Out.

  1. “…The two churches already have been shot down twice in their bid to block Pritzker’s orders — once by U.S. District Judge Robert Gettleman, and once by a three-judge panel in the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which found Pritzker’s “executive order does not discriminate against religious activities.” Oral arguments in the 7th Circuit are set for June 12.

U.S. District Judge John Lee also declined to intervene in a separate lawsuit challenging Pritzker on religious grounds. Lee and Gettleman agreed that popular comparisons between churches and grocery or liquor stores are not apt. They said churches should be compared to schools or movie theaters or concert halls…..”

Just an update — on some similar cases, now pending before the SCOTUS — but soon to be dismissed, Condor predicts:

    1. The Supremes, just as I predicted, above — decided this case against the churches, in summary fashion, last night:

      (ORDER LIST: 590 U.S.)
      FRIDAY, MAY 29, 2020
      ORDER IN PENDING CASE
      19A1046

ELIM ROMANIAN CHURCH, ET AL. V. PRITZKER, GOV. OF IL

“…The application for injunctive relief presented to Justice Kavanaugh and by him referred to the Court is denied.

The Illinois Department of Public Health issued new guidance on May 28. The denial is without prejudice to Applicants filing a new motion for appropriate relief if circumstances warrant….”
