UPDATED: 03.24.2017 @ 3 PM EDT — just as I repeatedly said, OrangeCare is DOA. Even though the GOP clearly controls both chambers, and the Oval Office, they couldn’t even get it to the starting line — let alone finish it. And whether I disagree with its goals or not is of no moment, at the moment. What it points up, clearly, is that Mr. Trump has no ability to parse details, in anyone’s positions.
In short, 45 is manifestly unfit to govern, since he doesn’t even understand (or care to discern) which ones might be the right questions to ask. Mr. Ryan bears responsibility here too — but it is hilarious that Mr. Trump is trying to blame Democrats for the defeat of his ill-starred OrangeCare lunacy.
He won in a sweep, in November — and as the ides of March arrive — he cannot even get his own party to agree… on what they ran on. Hilarious — but this has nothing to do with Democrats, or even to do with ObamaCare. . . it is an epic internal failure of the GOP. Moving on, then — getting out, for a long garden lunch, on a flawless 80 degree Friday. . . . yep. I’m out. Be excellent to someone who may not. . . deserve it.

This is what happens when we choose to elect an egotistical, blithering idiot — as President. One with zero ability or experience in governing, rather than dictating — that is… in compromise.
It doesn’t help that most of the Congressional GOP-ers ran on a series of central promises about which they told… lies. [Graphic at right obviously… refers… to a prior administration.
LATER UPDATE: Nate Silver concurs with me, adopting my surmise.] Between 45, Speaker Ryan, and Cruz, Lee and Rubio — not to mention several dozen others, none of them even bothered to tell remotely similar lies.
So now each faction has made solid but conflicting campaign promises — and will be dumped at the mid-terms in 2018 — if they fail to deliver. But what one promised would be done, the other promised would NOT be done. Charming.
So, Tuesday’s initial House vote slipped to Wednesday. Then the vote slipped to Thursday. Now it is unlikely before next week Tuesday, at the earliest. And Mr. Trump is at least 12 and maybe 33 votes short of the needed number in the House alone.
And each time he picks up one House vote, by “bargaining” — he loses a few more, who made the opposite promise.
And none of it will be “centrist” enough to clear the Senate. You heard it here first, weeks ago. This whole package is DOA.
DOA because Mr. Trump is manifestly not interested in governing — by compromise. So — a prediction — nothing will happen on health care — until after the 2018 mid-terms — nothing that will become enforceable law.
Word. And central promises… BROKEN. On the GOP side.
