[U: False Claim About Kids, To Boot.] John Suggests His State Is An “Elderly” Kill Box; Asks “Why?”

To answer John’s cynical, (mostly) rhetorical question… (and to respond in kind)… we need look no further than Hinderaker’s own prior writings on COVID-19.

The high elderly death rates most likely reflect John‘s — and his GOP comrades’ — own inability… to take to heart the tenets of his/their self-professed faith, as it particularly relates to Christ’s social gospels (as set out in Matthew 25:25-41).

Hinderaker has repeatedly and loudly put his narrow commercial interests ahead of the value of the lives of older Americans, including those in his home state. See this as a second example, among many.

So it seems John has answered his own rhetorical question, as all authors of such questions aim to do — but in John’s case… not in quite the manner he imagined.

Onward. [I should note in passing that in this same scree, John claims the virus is “more or less harmless to the young.” That is flatly false — and dangerously so.] Science matters. Facts… still matter.

These factors increasingly render Hinderaker’s views… irrelevant, in the 21st Century marketplace of… ideas.

Carry-on.

Trump Had His Head Handed To Him — On Lawless Student Visas Measure. He’s Already… FOLDED.

Just as we predicted about seven days ago… my, but the end came on swift wings, indeed.

Trump’s people are without any credible doubt, the least competent, on Earth. . . at anything… ever. I suppose that is something to be grateful for — they simply cannot figure out how to read the US Constitution, for comprehension. Here’s the proof:

…Judge Allison Burroughs, a federal district judge in Boston who was expected to preside over oral arguments in the Harvard-MIT case, made the surprise announcement at the beginning of the court proceedings Tuesday.

“I have been informed by the parties that they have come to a resolution,” Burroughs said, adding, “They will return to the status quo….”

[And from the order entered this afternoon, in Boston’s federal District Courthouse:] “…The Court was informed by the parties that they have come to a resolution to the combined temporary restraining order/preliminary injunction motions. The Government has agreed to rescind the July 6, 2020 Policy Directive and the July 7, 2020 FAQ, and has also agreed to rescind their implementation. The Government will return to the March 9, 2020 and March 13, 2020 policy. This moots the temporary restraining order/preliminary injunction motions, [ECF Nos. 4, 30], and will preclude enforcement of the July 6, 2020 policy directive and July 7, 2020 FAQ, which are being rescinded on nationwide basis….”

That was… a speedy loss, for Team Trump. Hilarious. But his base will forget immediately that he tucked his tail, and ran — when shown superior legal authority. So, his politics (with people of less than fourth grade educations) may have worked… disgusting.

One Other “Swedish Factor” Paul M. Forgot To Mention: National / Universal Healthcare.

Paul M. does finally admit tonight that the US is likely in very deep trouble, if belatedly so, on COVID-19 trendlines — and pandemic mitigation.

He tries to “happy up“… the ominous math, a bit — by citing the example of Sweden — where early on, there were high death rates (per capita), due in no small part to no enforced lockdowns (think Texas and Florida). And now (he observes)… Sweden has just recently either started to decline, on absolute death-rate basis, or at least flatten-out, relative to the still-rising overall incidence rates there.

He suggests that “maybe” the COVID-19 lethality is declining overall, globally (there is no reliable evidence of that), due to biological factors. But it could ALSO well be — due to the fact that all Swedish citizens get essentially unlimited low cost health care (but pay for it in a more than 57 per cent tax rate on personal income — above a fairly low threshold).

But that certainly means they get far superior health care, compared to that received by the average low wage (or unemployed) US worker, or the average middle to lower class US retiree. See, for example, this:

“…A Swedish patient never has to pay more than a total of SEK 1,150 ($127.00!) for medical consultations in the course of 12 months. Any consultations exceeding that amount are free of charge. For prescription medication, nobody pays more than SEK 2,350 ($285.00!) in a given 12-month period….”

So — any hope Paul M. may have, that the US will see its own current… explosion, in cases actually ultimately result in fewer deaths per capita, by September… is simply insane — and flies in the face of common sense, and the actual facts applicable to… Sweden — his own chosen example.

Now you know. I do get that he wishes the future wasn’t so bleak, given how he and his fellow Powerline boys kept chanting (in unison with Trump), that we would be rocking’ back into a hot economic recovery by August… but that just proves none of them can… science, for sh!t.

Onward, smiling, sadly — but smiling.

What Hinderaker’s Mendaciously Malicious, Yet Vapid Spokesmodel Fails To Mention, Re Stone…

Once again, we find the embittered, withering husk… that John has become offering a video clip of a completely inauthentic, odiously redolent of vinegar, store bought blonde… Trumpian spokesmodel, in hopes of “owning the libs”… re Stone. His efforts, and more importantly, hers… ring hollow — are abject failures, though. Why?

Because facts… matter.

Because she, and Hinderaker, both wholly neglect to mention that Stone was also convicted of witness tampering — i.e., mobster sh!t — in addition to six… other felonies.

So… with all due respect (i.e., none): F#ck John; F#ck Roger Stone; and F#ck this dim-bulb of a fake lawyer/talking head, here linked.

Thanks for coming to my TedTalkTM.

The Able USDC Judge Amy Berman-Jackson Has Questions — About Trump’s Stone Commutation Paperwork… Hilarious.

Gee — who might have imagined that Trump’s legal team would be slip-shod, in its paperwork, related to the purported (and undeniably corrupt) Stone commutation?

Yeah. Only… essentially everyone paying the slightest bit of attention — here’s the order, just entered in DC by the able USDC Judge Amy Berman Jackson:

…MINUTE ORDER as to ROGER J. STONE, JR.

In response to questions raised by the U.S. Probation Office, the parties are ORDERED to provide the Court by July 14, 2020 with a copy of the Executive Order commuting the defendant’s sentence and to address the question of the scope of the commutation, in particular, whether it involves the sentence of incarceration alone or also the period of supervised release.

Signed by Judge Amy Berman Jackson on 7/13/20… .

No matter what the executive order looks like, it won’t likely be any real grounds for invalidating it — but it is clear nobody on this particularly odious ship of fools thinks through… much of anything. Onward.

Hinderaker Called NY’s COVID-19 Response A “Failure” In April… What Then, Is Florida, John?

Mr. Hinderaker has grown quite… taciturn, it seems about the Republican run State of Florida. It was as recently as late June 2020, when he was touting the Dakotas’ (and Florida’s) “laissez-faire” approach — and declaring Democratic controlled New York… a failure, on COVID-19. [Background, from just two weeks ago, on Florida.]

In the last few days, Florida’s cases have exploded — eclipsing 15,300 this morning — in a day. New York’s worst day ever was just over 12,000 — now several months ago. New York is struggling, to be sure — as is much of the nation — but it is trending in the right direction. Not so, Florida or Texas. In sum, New York did NOT suffer the self inflicted wounds (by reopening far too early) that the Republicans in Florida, New York and Arizona are now staggering through.

John will (but of course!) fall silent — as untold new thousands of people now die, because he and his fellow moronic, science-deficient Republicans… cannot do… math.

Tragic.

Hinderaker’s “Disunion”: A More Polite Word For… “Sedition”, When His Ideas Have Lost All Currency.

It is a constant refrain of John’s — whenever a moment arrives, in which it becomes clear his long-lost “white males are supreme” philosophy is dying out, in America. He usually finds something new to complain about, shortly enough — as ever — but this time… he’s ready to throw in the towel, on the improbable dream that is… America.

He has previously suggested all he wants is… freedom, freedom to be left alone, as an ornery old cuss.

But here on Sunday evening, for the first time (to my memory), he calls for his freedom… to be transformed into… sedition. Simply stated, to recreate the Confederate States of America.

Precious.

But his patently silly idea — such as it is — misses quite a bit, even as to basic assumptions. Several of the states he posits (as potentially former members) of his new CSA… aren’t really going to be interested in joining. He relies on the map as it existed at the peak of Reaganism, in the mid 1980s.

As irony would have it, Trump’s hideous non-policies, long supported by John, have now clearly drawn many away — from the former GOP/Tea Party. [They cannot abide the racism, and religious intolerance — even if they like the idea of free stuff, from Daddy Trump.]

By my Kentucky-windage / rough reckoning, his Red America would control less than 11 per cent of the GDP of these United States, if realistically evaluated. Oil might be the single exception. But tech, autos, shipping, forestry, and most industrial / foodstuffs agriculture will wither under Trumpain tariff lunacy — and thus decline to join John’s CSA. So… I guess… my reaction is:

“Sure John — go for it. But be careful what you wish for.”

Your neo-confederacy will be a sad little vassal state, to these United States. You will have to beg the rest of us (real “e pluribis unum” Americans)… for essentially everything — but gasoline.

Good luck.

Yawn. When Amazon Declines To Stock A Book… That Is NOT Book Banning.

Lately, John and his side-kick boys have been calling boycotts of vendors like Goya “suppression of speech”, and the decisions by individual book-sellers, not to stock certain books… “book banning”.

This is a very dishonest form of rhetoric. A boycott itself is… speech, against a vendor who supports Trump’s racist policies against the majority of the people who consume Goya’s products. That is not suppression (nor is it “cancel culture”) — that is speech, by people — with their purchasing power. That the Goya CEO’s speech is costing his shareholders a lot of money… is the natural outcome of… his own, ill-advised, odious speech. Both are free expression — but his may have expensive consequences — in the capitalists’ system.

As to book-banning — that term only properly may apply to governmental entities. Amazon is simply a corner bookstore. The book is available world-wide from thousands of other book-sellers. Nothing is… banned, here.

And again — Amazon’s “boycott” of a defamatory book against Trudeau’s clear-eyed policies — is itself… speech. It is free speech AGAINST habitual liars. Get used to it, John. Many of your own former advertisers have boycotted your blog, due to your… habitual lies.

Karma’s a wheel man.

Onward, grinning….
