Nah, Billings-Puss… “From Your Co-Bloggers, To Today.”

Lloyd has been pushing the false “Baby Scalia” equivalences argument hard here, on Columbia protests — and (churlishly) Munich 1972.

There are no terrorists, nor guns at Columbia (other than the ones the NYPD wear). No hostages. No dead athletes. No Olympics.

No, Mr. Puss… the analogy — taking over a campus building, and refusing to disperse… is to your co-authors, Hinderaker, and Johnson and Mirengoff — Dartmouth 1969.

Take a seat son.

  1. For all his other sins, Billingsley is just a bad writer, incapable of stringing together a clear, cohesive sentence or argument. In this post, he goes on a long, irrelevant tangent about Ammar Campa-Najjar, a United States naval officer who has zero to do with either the Columbia protests or (aside from lineage) the Munich massacre (which, as you note, also have zero to do with each other).

Campa-Najjar’s grandfather sure sounds like a terrible guy, but I thought we weren’t supposed to be held responsible for our ancestors’ actions. What does Billingsley want from Campa-Najjar, reparations?

(Does Billingsley know that Campa-Najjar has acknowledged and denounced the alleged crimes of his grandfather, who died 16 years before he was born? It’s unclear from this post.)

Then he links to his own batshit crazy book disparaging FDR for being a “stealth” cripple. (For the record, while FDR did prefer not to be photographed using his wheelchair, his disability was widely known before and during his presidency, and — obviously — was and is a major part of his image.)

I used to think Hinderaker was the dumbest of the lot, by a considerable margin, but ever since they brought Billingsley on board, I’ve wondered if I should reassess.

    1. John is certainly… a dullard.

      But Billingsley… is just… dull.

I agree with all you wrote… and I never read him before he started posting at Powerline, but I’ve not seen one remotely… original idea from him in six long months.

At least in the past — like over a decade ago — Hinderaker would occasionally offer an original thought. Mostly pungent, but at least… inventive, from time to time.

      No more. Hilarious!

Thanks for the grins, re Lloyd and reparations, man.
