This is such a quintessential Hinderaker piece of belchery.
In it, as a non-Jew — living in the bucolic upper midwest, in a multi-million dollar mansion, and almost daily bloviating over hard-right radio / podcasts… John Hinderaker tells the people of Israel that they must exterminate anyone ever even “associated” with Hamas.
Hmmm… where have we heard rhetoric like that… before?
Oh. Right.
Lest anyone misunderstand, here are John’s exact words — in context: “So, yes, Israel must kill everyone who is associated with Hamas in any way, so that that organization will never rise again….”
The general point here is not just that Hinderaker is wrong on policy — he is — but ALSO that he has exactly ZERO skin in the game 4,000 miles off, on the other side of the globe.
So as people seek, in good will, to defuse the war, and minimize civilian casualties… Hinderaker calls for more ruthless bloodshed, this time by the IDF. He does so, willfully ignoring that both sides have been killing each other into the tens of thousands of bodies, for well over three thousand years, in the region. [And just about six years ago, the IDF slaughtered 183 Gazans, women and children mostly, by firing automatic rifles, through chain link fences, at trapped targets. It was an intentional terror act.]
To be clear — no one is “in the right” here. At least, everyone is wrong, insofar as the killing of women and children goes, on either side.
So shut up John. You are a bitter, doddering old malign… fool.
And a blood-thirsty one — with none of your own children or grandchildren — or even property… in harm’s way, it is easy for you to call for… more murders.
