And to be sure, I have no fond feelings for Xi — his Muslim extermination / re-education / concentration camps, his ruling elite party oligarchs getting luxury medical tourism visas to Macau, while many millions of Chinese children struggle with hunger in the interior…

But I do think when a rumor of a coup is debunked by our own intelligence community… John ought to at least run a correction.
