Many will recall that about three and a half years ago, Baby-T and Steve Mnuchin put a halt to the finished Obama Administration plans to remove Andrew Jackson, and replace him with… Harriet Tubman on the US currency — the $20 bill. [My December 2018 backgrounder may be found here.]
In the mean time, as imaged at above left, many of us took matters into our own hands, and offered our “improvement“… to the existing $20’s in circulation. Here’s the latest bit:
…The Biden administration is looking at ways to speed up the process of putting Harriet Tubman’s image on the $20 bill after the effort stalled under the Trump administration.
“The Treasury Department is taking steps to resume efforts to put Harriett Tubman on the front of the $20 notes,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki said during a briefing with reporters.
“It’s important that our notes, our money… reflect the history and diversity of our country, and Harriet Tubman’s image gracing the new $20 note would certainly reflect that,” she added. “So we’re exploring ways to speed up that effort….”
Karma they say — is a wheel… as that slave owning ex-President is replaced — or cancelled, if you prefer… with/by… the arguable “lead conductor” of the Underground Railroad. Sweet. Very sweet.
