In Which Paul M. Claims Unfair Debate Moderating Caused Trump’s Losses. Huh.

I realize that accepting Trump’s losing by exactly the same margin in the electoral college tally, as he claimed was a “landslide” in 2016 (to say nothing of the fact that he lost by a popular vote margin of now over 5.3 million this time, having lost by almost 3 million votes in 2016)… is hard for the PowerLine boys.

Really, I get it. I was in a fog in 2016 for a few days. But I didn’t blame HRC’s loss on anyone, outside of the lack of WI, PA and MI blue turnout.

But Paul’s tonight is just… silly.

To credit Chris Wallace with destroying Trump’s chances, via honest questions about the pandemic (undeniably on Trump’s watch, alone), and not Trump’s preposterous lies in reply — as well as his choice to ignore the debate rules, and try to talk over Mr. Biden incessantly… is to live on the other side of Alice’s looking glass.

But that is where the frothy right is now, bounced out of all but a small few of meaningless suits to challenge modest packets of local votes: there is literally no changing the result.

Trump is… done.

So blather on, guys. Only the Parler crowd cares now. Reality-bound America has decided. No more Trump.

Cheers.
