I’ll make short work of this, as the new GOP strategy to fighting impeachment is to admit Trump committed several felonies, but then say “it’s normal, since it was only a short time…” or [the alternative formulation] “a brief period” — of violating federal criminal law.
Uh-huh. Orwell had nothing on these morons. Here’s the salient bit of John’s overnight feverish rant:

We shall see about that. I hear there are GOP Senators lining up to vote for convictions, when that moment arrives.
We shall, indeed see. But normalizing felonies [by admitting them, in writing — then distracting…] is something the principled people in the old GOP would never have attempted.
