Tonight, John — with his own spin on a preposterously non-credible interview (by someone else) with Mr. Dowd (formerly a Trump lawyer) — amplifies a simply 100% bat guano theory, about Trump’s persona, thus:

“…Hypothesis: Trump adopts the persona of a vain and boastful man who overestimates his own abilities, because it is the surest way to cause his opponents to underestimate him….”

I. Can’t. Even.

Name one thing he’s actually achieved using this “meta” / two persona “strategy”… I mean other than engendering universal global scorn.

A more Sir William Of Occam take would be… Trump is, in fact, that incompetent, vain, impotent, demented, boastful man-child we all see — on parade, every day.

Of course Dowd won’t say it, because Trump (likely) still hadn’t paid all of Dowd’s legal fees. And Mr. Hinderaker lacks the courage to observe that his faux-emperor… wears no clothes.
