Well — This Is Precious.

Whopperline-John-Cole-Cartoon-Trump-2016About 20 minutes ago — in broken English, and poor grammar [which his handlers will no doubt eventually edit, and recast (just as they did with his original “D-Wade” tweet from Saturday morning!)] — Mr. Trump had this to say — via tweet:

“…Now that African-Americans are seeing what a bad job [sic] Hillary type policy and management has done [sic] to the inner-cities, they want TRUMP!…”

I will give Mr. Trump this much: he sure can pack a LOT of ignorance into just a few words.

Let’s unpack this: (1) he assumes, in error, that almost all black people live in the inner cities. (2) He assumes we (or he!) must know what a “Hillary type policy” is — whatever that might mean — insofar as it applies to his chosen topic (which I am guessing is broadly urban decay). (3) I do not think HRC has served in any governmental capacity where her views on inner city crime were ever part of her policy portfolio/set assignments. As we all know, but Mr. Trump does not, apparently, Secretary of State handles matters outside the US, not inside it. (4)  I suppose he might be referring to HRC’s time in the US Senate. But let us be clear — only insofar as she was one of two US Senators representing the entire state of New York (which would include NYC) — I don’t think Mr. Trump has any data for what he calls a “Hillary type policy” to critique.

(5) Of course, none of it matters to Mr. Trump. He cannot keep his own positions — let alone other peoples’ — straight from minute to minute. The same is true, as to any actual facts on “inner city” crime.

(6) So once again, Mr. Trump’s “appeal” to black voters, such as it is (which I am told, he is going to take to a black church in Detroit on Saturday — a televangelists’ pulpit actually, but why quibble?)… amounts (and may fairly be reduced) to “Gosh — everything about you, and your life, sucks — so vote for me.”

No matter that he has it all wrong — about almost any/every -ones’ actual life — black, brown or white. As I’ve said — he loses in November — and badly.

Onward.
