This scarcely bears much mention — so I’ll make the post short-form — but the idea of the graphic felt far too fun to pass up.
Friday morning, Mr. Hinderaker felt the need to describe a sitting President of the most powerful nation on Earth as… “a serious President“.
I laughed out loud. [UPDATE: By Sunday morning, he had edited that concluding line out of his copy — but it was there for almost three days.]
The idea that anyone would have to defend that office-holder from an operating assumption that he is indeed, not a serious person — in a serious role — is completely self-deflating.
Just as I wrote weeks ago now, most of the defenses of Mr. Trump have become laughable — on their face — because they seek (so vainly) to normalize the incomprehensible babble he speaks. And when he is clear, he is openly lying 90 per cent of the time.
So I’ll just chuckle. And say “nice ‘do, man…” Really — nice new… ‘do.
