From Ukrainian then, that reads: “Трамп закручений” — or Trump is… SCREWED.
Paul today wrote this:
“…The fact that the [sic] Ukraine military suffered no harm from the hold on aid doesn’t mean that Trump acted properly. He didn’t, in my view. The military aid was conditioned (for a while) on investigating Joe Biden, his political adversary, not on a broad anti-corruption investigation….
Nonetheless, the fact that the Ukrainian military was not set back by the hold on aid supports a persuasive “no harm, no impeachable foul” defense….”
This was his attempt to soften the blow he struck last week. None of these relevant crime statutes are predicated on having to show an actual injury/harm. This is not a civil tort case. If the criminal law forbids it — and it does — then violating that law is… unsurprisingly… a crime.
Of course, Paul is only now answering a question… not asked. And not answering… the only relevant one:
Is it a… crime? Yes it is. It is well beyond merely “improper” — and Paul himself had said so, just last week.
Significantly, Kenneth Starr has now agreed on Tee Vee, live this afternoon, that Ambassador, and Million-Dollar Trump Donor Sondland’s OWN revised testimony now means there will be an impeachment trial — in the Senate.
The law — and now the facts — ones no one seriously contests, any longer… make it a foregone conclusion, according to Clinton Whitewater special prosecutor [GOP lawyer and GOP donor] Kenneth Starr.
Game. Set. Match.
And Paul was correct last week. It was a felony — or seven. Trump should resign now.
Or face jail, later.
Onward.
