Let’s Break Out The Tiny Violins: Powerline Is Dying — Ad Revenue Is Off 75%. Karma, Baby.

James-Tiny-Violins-2019Well. I. Love. This: over the weekend, Powerline excoriated Mr. James in its meager, comically-anemic photo feature, about the NBA / China / Hong Kong flap.

And… as of yesterday afternoon, in an apparently unrelated development — John Hinderaker has had to put a tip jar on his site. To my knowledge [even in the early 2002-04-era days], that was never before… necessary.  The main trio made enough off of ads and VIP access events, even then — to justify the effort.

No longer.

“Powerlie” has correctly been labeled as a white supremacists’ site, by the Southern Poverty Law Center. And many larger companies — based on Facebook and Twitter campaigns against purveyors of racial hate, in particular… have decided to pull all ads from Hinderaker’s joint [and bigger outlets like Tucker Carlson’s and Sean Hannity’s].

Gosh, John… I guess I’d say that I am personally gratified that…  Karma is, in fact, a wheel.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer… guy. By his own admission, the site’s cash take is off 75 per cent, from just this time last year. Glorious.

Okay, play us out” — and do break out the tiny violins, Mr. James. My work here, is [almost] done.

And… one and all: thanks for coming to my TedTalkTM
