But Scott Johnson makes his central focus in the story of a rather mundane petty theft allegation… the gender identity (or, more precisely, the fluidity thereof) of the alleged thief.

He includes several photos, to firmly fix his disapproving glare upon the supposed thief. But it seems at least plausible that this was a case of mistaken bag retrieval at an airport carousel.

In fact, one could be forgiven for wondering whether hard right TSA agents haven’t shaded the telling, so as to make it seem more nefarious.

In any event, I might ask why he (and John) did not run lots of photos of Anthony Weiner at his synagogue, or at Seders or bar mitzvahs… to firmly fix Weiner’s Judaism as a central part of the stories which led to his losing elections — and get disbarred. Why didn’t he run those “Jewishness” photos, along with those sex crimes allegations?

Never mind. We all know why. He’s a doddering old misogynist.

In the petty theft claim, he reports it as the Brinks Job mostly to shame the gender identity involved.
