Update: Now Brazil Becomes The Fifth Non-African Nation With Reported Mpox Cases…

This latest case is a single air passenger arriving at the main airport in Sao Paulo. This makes five nations outside of Africa — with Sweden, Pakistan, Philippines and Thailand rounding out the other four.

DNA testing is presently underway to determine for certain, but it is likely a Clade Ib case, with traveller arriving from sub-Saharan Africa. [Clade Ib is the more serious strain.] Here’s the latest, from Reuters South American desk:

In truth, those old posts have little relevance to today's electoral politics, except in so far as they suggest very little has changed over time -- in Mr. Hinderaker's world-view. He remains pretty regularly delusional -- since at least 2002. And that is not just a coincidence -- as one nation, we elected Mr. Obama a few years later, and Mr. Hinderaker has never recovered -- to a reality based view of America. America is now a more centrist nation, than the one he lauded under Reagan and Bush 41, 43 and 45. So be it. 45 will now be gone by November. COVID-19 has shown even the ardent partisans 45 is an emperor with no clothes.
