And surprisingly, I am not just referring to Hinderaker’s terrible data analysis skills. No here… he just openly lies.

Tonight Hinderaker wants to claim (disgustingly) that mass shootings in schools are a rather minor problem. This despite demonically laughing — that mass shooting incidents are generally “up”, under Mr. Biden, just three nights ago. Uh-Huh.

Hinderaker wants us to look the other way tonight, because new NEJM data makes plain that in the USA, behind only car crashes, kids aged two to 16 are most often killed by guns. That was historically true, but in 2020-21, guns became the leading cause of death for children — eclipsing car crashes. That may reverse; see at right — over the next few years — but the essential truth is that guns are the no. 1 or no. 2 kid killer in the USA:

…From 2019 to 2020, the relative increase in the rate of firearm-related deaths of all types (suicide, homicide, unintentional, and undetermined) among children and adolescents was 29.5% — more than twice as high as the relative increase in the general population. The increase was seen across most demographic characteristics and types of firearm-related death….

Sadly (in another episode of Hinderaker’s “lying with graphics!”), we see he again put up the first chart he used just three nights ago.

I had modified that one, at lower left. What a stupid, stupid… tool.

Along the way, he proves my point, first made in late 2017, that Trump was the “killing-est” President — ever.

But this one tonight, he is trying to claim that school shooting deaths are exceedingly rare. I won’t take you through his plainly flawed math, since it is clear that narrowing the “problem” to just in-school shootings largely eliminates the FACT that in the United States, when an otherwise healthy child between the ages of 1 and 19 dies, the LEADING cause of that death is in fact a gunshot wound.

Either accidental, or not so — the lie John here tries to tell is… deeply vile.

So, with Uvalde’s 18 dead children — Hinderaker tells us ignore them — it’s not important… we should simply call him… a bought and paid pig, for the NRA.

As a side note, from three nights ago, there is no doubt that — except for total Allied deaths under FDR and WW II (even Lincoln, when we were killing one another, was only 600,000), no one President has ever seen so many Americans put to death by his decisions — though in Tangerine’s case all of these were due to “failures” — failures to act quickly on Covid, and failure to address streets awash in AR-15 style assault weapons.

Cheers, chucklehead. You’ve earned a marquee spot on the wall of shame. Liar.
