His belching is both predictable and tedious.

Like Paul Mirengoff, he is trying to find a way to justify Trump handing the Ukraine people to Putin on a platter as blood sacrifice. [This, despite his nearly 20 years of claiming that Russia was our sworn enemy, possibly even more so than China.]

But this passage, in particular, I need to call out specifically, for how heinously dishonest it is:

…If the United States had had a functioning president three years ago, the war would not have begun. If we had had a functioning president for the last two years, it would have been brought to an end before now…

This is part of his Orwellian mission — as assigned by Trump: rewrite the history (LIE!) about the bipartisan support for protecting Ukraine against Russian aggression, now that Trump has some personal stake in kowtowing to Putin.

The bitter old geezer forgets he has archives full of posts where he said the opposite in real time.

UPDATED @ 8:30 PM EST — Not content to be proven wrong by his own boss-man (Tangerine), John doubled down with a new post, using a very late night tweet from Prof. Tribe as his supposed foil, this time. He did so, because as is clear below… his ravings cannot withstand a moment’s analysis — as to Col. Vindman.

So — Hinderaker just… changed the subject. Now his complaint is that Prof. Tribe shouldn’t call what Tucker and Trump are saying… treason. Perhaps not. But it is a far cry from the strong condemnations we saw by the Obama administration in similar circumstances. Trump? He’s a lap poodle for Putin. See below. Very droll. End, update.

The far-right morons (like John) are both malevolent, and singularly unaware of what their leader is up to, moment to moment.

Never more so, than today. This afternoon, Hinderaker took pot-shots at a fine man, true patriot and Army Ranger (but I repeat myself), who stood up to Tangerine, now two years ago.

But John’s criticism today claims that Col. Vindman doesn’t understand reality in foreign policy — particularly as regards the current Ukraine / Putin extremism. Never mind that Col. Vindman speaks Russian and Ukrainian, and was born in Soviet Russia, before becoming a US citizen, in Brighton Beach, New York — and then enlisting, becoming a Ranger and ultimately being awarded a Purple Heart, among many other distinctions.

That’s… all very precious (John dodged the draft in the Vietnam era). See what Tangerine himself put out, as an official gab.com statement imaged, at above right. [Now that sanctions exist, Trump cannot borrow at the Russian window.]

But here we see… Hinderaker taking Col. Vindman to task for saying that some hard-right GOP folk are too complicit in aiding Putin’s imperial whims. John forgets to mention that Trump likely owes close to $700 million in loans of now-dubious collectibility (in hard currencies at least), to buddies of Putin — as of last week (on his wildly overstated properties). So, Tangerine is leading the band for the GOP in saying “Putin is my friend, but he’s helping US Democrats — going into mid-terms” by annexing parts of Ukraine.

So — when a guy with a Purple Heart says it, it is “risable“ according to John — but when Tangerine… goes well beyond that… Hinderaker falls silent.

Charming.

Late night update — it seems Trump made even more outrageous, un-American statements yesterday, during a radio call-in interview — which were just covered (and reprinted) this evening, by The Hill:

“I said, ‘How smart is that?’ He’s going to go in and be a peacekeeper,” added Trump, who regularly praised and sought close ties with Putin during his time in office. “That’s the strongest peace force. We could use that on our southern border. That’s the strongest peace force I’ve ever seen….

Yet Hinderaker? Crickets….
