Well… without a shred of evidence, Hinderaker closes his evening by saying that California Governor Newsom is in large part responsible for the nation-wide inflation of late. Hilarious.

While it is true that California (were it a nation) would be the fifth largest economy in the world, Hinderaker’s nonsense ignores the idiotic (19th Century economic ideas, these!) tariffs Tangerine levied — ostensibly against China (mostly just fully kicking in this year, now), and they, in fact now drive inflation. They inflate the cost of foreign goods, which US consumers must pay — even as Mr. Biden tries to undo them, in steps — so as not to crater any one sector of our economy.

Christ, John — take a basic history of econ. course. This was/is 1890, all over again.
