He apparently gave a preposterously unscientific speech on it last week, at some far right excuse for a… college (sort of). He thus plainly misled impressionable (if likewise feckless) youths, in his purely ideological quest for what amounts to an accelerating (via non-scientific thinking) US killing field, for the elderly. [To be clear — all of these remarks of mine — and his — relate solely to the COVID experience/data, in the USA.]

The indelible irony of it all is that many many prominent GOP members have now tested positive, and/or are sick with the virus — while comparatively very very few prominent Democrats are… and this ought to tell John that his entire thesis is…exactly bassakwards. [Hint: it is not political — it is about science.]

He points to what he calls the “lack of fear” of COVID, in GOP ranks, and what he says are Democratic institutions only “lightly impacted” by the virus — all to conclude this is an illusory danger that Democrats, in the main, perceive.

But the available US empirical data conclusively establishes just the opposite: it more closely fits a model of willful ignorance, and flouting of well-established scientific principles for arrest of the transmission mechanisms, and sadly enough, for them — by prominent Republicans.

This is not a party / divide issue — this is a refusal to accept clearly established bio-science… issue.

As I close, I will admonish again — no one should take SERIOUSLY… anything on the topic a man who said (and never admitted his lie!) that the dying was “mostly at an end” in the USA, back in mid-July (then with around 150,000 dead) — since we are over 214,000 dead, this afternoon.

And positive cases are spiking in many parts of the country — so we may be at a quarter of a million dead — by Christmas.

John’s lying is not just immoral — it is increasingly lethal, to his clearly ignorant (and perhaps willfully ignorant) readership. But he does bear responsibility for feeding this vile and false narrative to them.
