Classic Stauffer: I’m Sure She Has Proof That The IRS Agents She Defames… Showed Her Their DNC Cards?!

Well… this one is just… too stupid for much additional verbiage.

But Tucker Carlson (and Betsy Stauffer!) have made the preposterous claim that they can know — without ever meeting the agents, or speaking to them… that all the IRS agents who left a note on his door… were registered as Democrats.

Yes… that is how desperate the frothy right of the GOP has gotten: Matty “Dick Pics” Taibbi has said that receiving a locally-delivered reminder from the IRS that he needs to verify his ID, for them… is proof that the “Bidens” are out to get him.

R-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-ght.

Fun fact: In the last three months, I personally had the very same visit (no, I won’t say, and cannot recall, which day, exactly) — to verify my ID, on both my 2017 and 2022 returns, but I was at home. [BTW, I am a registered Democrat with a BLM yard sign right out front.] And they were polite, swift and professional. I asked them: “Is it odd that you come out in person?”

IRS agent’s Answer: “No, not really… we had several (unrelated) subpoenas to serve (other homes and businesses) in your zip code, and so… to move our processes along, we add to our travel schedules… people we can quickly meet and clear with picture IDs, face to face.”

Makes perfect sense.

But Matt, Tucker and Bitsy all see a vast left wing conspiracy — in the IRS making efficient calls.

And they all greatly over-estimate the importance of Matty “Dick-Pics” Taibbi. It is a near certainty that no one out in the field that day for the IRS, state wide knew — or cared — whether he was talking to a MAGA dog-and-pony show on Capitol Hill, or what he was talking about. [And to be clear, she went utterly radio-silent for five days, while this threatening meme, at right — put out by Tangerine, himself — against a NYC prosecutor… circulated. Damn.]

Sit down, you clowns.

Classic Hinderaker: Praise Ted Cruz’s Lies About Southern Border… IGNORE The Laws Violated By Tangerine For Four Years.

Hinderaker writes this morning that Mr. Biden’s administration is “doing a bad job” at the southern border. [Maybe. But maybe it is due to the fervent efforts, and desire of the asylum seekers’ needs to be free — that they take highly unreasonable risks, at least in part. Mexico does not protect them, on that side of the border — from predators — in the main. The greatest safety likely comes from reaching US soil… quickly, under Mr. Biden’s policies.]

And so, it is flatly false to say (as Ted Cruz does) that his administration is “allowing” rapes to occur. That “allowance” (to the extent it occurred at all), occurred via Border Patrol policies enforced by Steven Miller, Trump’s miscreant / guy. So, unless one is willing to tell the truth about Tangerine’s intentionally leaving unaccompanied minors in harm’s way, and forcibly separating minors from their parents — to facilitate that harm… this is a pure lie.

Criminals commit crimes on the other side of the border, to be sure — and no US policy will stop that. Nope.

Mr. Biden’s policies are as humane as our legal system allows. [We need Congress to… act.]

Trump? Was intentionally savage. Intentionally.

Cruz knows it full well — and so does Hinderaker.

Tonight, “Nutty John” Hinderaker claims that “liberals” are going to try to force him to give up steak, in favor of a genetically-modified DANGEROUS (if eaten) protein cell line (a lab-grown admixture, derived from extinct wooly mammoth and modern elephant muscle cell DNA!)… because he MIS-read a report on a study… growing modified muscle cells — in a dish, as a demonstration project — on using CRISPR tech. Nothing more.

And so… this simply must be evidence of a profoundly concussive event — like a skull-fracture, from a flying snow shovel, earlier this past winter… still lingering, untreated by modern medicine, in the Hinderaker household.

Not much else might explain his ludicrous belief that he will ultimately be forced “by Democrats” to eat bugs… and whatever this “Beyond Meat” clone might be (and at a nose-bleed price point, to boot!).

Either that, or he’s been listening to Alex Jones and Tucker Carlson shows, again.

Dunno — don’t care. But it is sad, to see a legal mind — in decline.

We Assume The MS-22 Soyuz Is In Russian Hands, As Of This Morning In Kazakhstan — But No Video Proves It.

The claim by the Russian government is that the Soyuz MS-22 made a soft, parachute assisted landing on a high plateau inside the interior of Kazakhstan. I’ll accept that as true, absent evidence from US radar or satellites in conflict with it.

Here’s today’s mid-morning NASA blog entry on the parts it could observe — from the ISS:

…The uncrewed Roscosmos Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft made an automated, parachute-assisted landing in Kazakhstan at 7:46 a.m. EDT (5:46 p.m. Kazakhstan time) on Tuesday after undocking from the International Space Station at 5:57 a.m.

Remaining aboard the station is the seven-person crew of Expedition 69 with Station Commander Sergey Prokopyev of Roscosmos, NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen, Woody Hoburg, and Frank Rubio, UAE (United Arab Emirates) astronaut Sultan Alneyadi, and Roscosmos cosmonauts Andrey Fedyaev and Dmitri Petelin….

Next week, the MS-23 replacement will be moved into position in a bay on the ISS. . . to prep for the three to fly home in it. It has performed flawlessly, through this morning. Onward, smiling….

A Bustling Port City In Guinea Now Confirms At Least Four Marburg Cases… Disconcerting, For Risks Of Wider Spreading.

This is the real fear of such an outbreak — that it moves from isolated, rural areas… into a large and mobile city’s population, undetected.

Then before public health authorities can isolate those exposed, many may have left on ships or boats, for other countries and other ports of call. And what was local becomes… regional/continental. We will hope that the contacts of contacts are compliant, and agree to be monitored, in Tanzania and Guinea. Here’s the latest, from the UK’s Telegraph MSM outlet:

…An outbreak of the deadly Marburg virus in Equatorial Guinea has spread from rural districts to the main port of the African nation, increasing the risk of further transmission as the disease reaches densely populated areas and transport hubs.

At least four cases have now been detected in the city of Bata, which has a population of around 200,000 people and links to several neighbouring countries….

The outbreak in Equatorial Guinea, in Central Africa, is already thought to be the fourth largest ever recorded. The World Health Organisation (WHO) last week said there had been nine laboratory confirmed cases: seven have died while the remaining two are undergoing treatment. Authorities have also identified 20 suspected cases, all of whom are now dead….

Right On Cue, Scott Johnson FALSELY Labels “Trans-ism” As A Mental Defect Or Disorder. Ugh.

Not surprising in the least, but Johnson seeks to blame the Nashville school shootings primarily on the fact that the shooter was… trans. [Scott possesses no medical, or psychological degrees or other qualifications.]

That he tells this lie, in a post ostensibly to praise the police (and to be clear, praise there well earned, in my view!)… does NOT redeem his choice to demonize the status of hundreds of thousands of very healthy, self-actualizing individuals who identify as trans- in one way or another — to tar them by association, with a serial killer.

I am virtually certain that at least one of Scott’s classmates, either in his private high school, undergrad, or in his law school classes… has committed murder. [It is a sad fact, of 20th Century American life, even in his insular elite schooling / life.]

Yet no one says that St. Paul’s Prep, or Dartmouth or Stanford Law classes… caused the killer to kill — and tar Scott, by association.

DAMN. Killers need to be condemned for the ACT of killing, not the status of being whyte, male, female, or non-binary… or green eyed.

Sit down, Scott. Just. sit. down.

Tonight, John whines about the Minnesota Governor choosing a fancy lakeside rental for the spring and summer while the downtown mansion is renovated. Okay, I might have selected a more modest rental… but whatever.

It’s not Mar-a-Lago — putting taxpayer millions — ($164 million of them, at last count) into Gov. Walsh’s own private club business profits.

And… it just about is approximately equal to the amount of PPP welfare from Trump Hinderaker took through his “think tank” during the pandemic — and never repaid.

That was over $203,000.

So sit down, clown.

A Pretty Poor Showing, For Both Of Us… But Duke Really Crushed His Bracket; And Marquette Dented Mine.

Just for the record — now, for only the third time in 13 years — I’ve come out ahead of the former President (out of about 6.9 million brackets posted on CBS Sports).

So… I’ll claim it.

Winning ugly, is still… winning.

But the idea that not one number one seed would even make it to the Elite Eight round, is… unprecedented.

Truly, it was a year of the… improbable. [But I should also note that in the “land of the usual” — he beat me easily in the women’s brackets. Again.]

Hold all your nine-year olds close tonight — in fact, hold all the lil’ ones… close.

Hinderaker Now Faces A Hard Reality… His [Mostly Faux] Religious Contradictions… Collide.

Today a 28 year old whyte trans individual (it turns out, who was a former student at this private “Christian” elementary school) — after weeks of plotting, and surveillance… and tactical mapping… laid out a manifesto, and strapped on a pair of full clipped AR-15s, and a pistol for good measure… shot his way into the school during morning classes… and slaughtered three children, all 9 years old (including the pastor’s daughter) and three other adults in under 13 minutes. [The dead adults appear to include authority figures at the school, including the Head of School, a 60 year old whyte woman.]

Then (thankfully) Nashville Police shot her dead.

An unspeakable crime — by any measure.

And so, John isn’t… speaking about it (and not just because an AR-15 was used; a gun he wants every American to own). No… the real reason for his silence here may be as follows: normally he would condemn the shooter on the basis of being… trans. John would argue that it is “a mental defect or illness.” He so argues all the time. Most recently, on Aussie TV, just night, in fact.

But this time… it may well turn out that the young shooter was bullied or worse… subjected to a forced “deprogramming” — by the church affiliated school… and that he (and thus now she) harbored immense (and rational) resentment toward the school’s teachings — and teachers.

That is (to my way of conducting a rational analysis) no VALID excuse for a shooting, to be clear — but how can senile old Hinderaker walk the hard right GOP’s tightrope of condemning all matters trans… and still lauding the AR-15s and the Christian school… when it may very well turn out that these or other school authority figures… intentionally, officially tormented the shooter — when s/he too was very young and vulnerable?

He cannot.

So… expect a long-lasting and continued silence.

And… Proto-Planetary Exploration, By Rotorcraft: The Dragonfly Project At NASA, Cleared Major Design Review — Aiming To Explore… Titan, ‘Round Saturn.

This potential mission passed a major engineering/design review in early March, and awaits next steps for budgetary allocations, etc., so it has a ways to go yet… but the idea would be, in the early 2030s, it might land on Saturn’s moon Titan, long suspected of having organics… and hop about, looking for them.

It is a much advanced version of the Ingenuity tech, and designed specifically for Titan’s much lower gravity and thin hazy proto-atmosphere. As I say, it is a good distance until we might even see it get a potential launch window, but very exciting just the same:

…Led by the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, Maryland, the team recently crossed a major milestone on that path, successfully passing all the technical requirements and standards of the weeklong Preliminary Design Review (PDR) that wrapped up on March 3….

The PDR – a requirement for all NASA missions – covers topics such as spacecraft design, mission requirements, science plans, schedule, cost, and risk. Held at APL, which manages the mission and will build and operate the Dragonfly lander, the PDR included more than 60 presentations to a panel of external experts tasked with evaluating and assessing mission progress for NASA….

“The team did a fantastic job,” said Dragonfly Principal Investigator Zibi Turtle, also of APL. “Everyone worked so hard to make sure the review board had a clear idea not just of the great progress we’ve made to close out the design but of our technical challenges, and how we plan to overcome them. We’re incredibly excited to have completed this step, and are ready to continue our work on the next phase of Dragonfly development — including testing in the large Titan-environment chamber here at APL over the next year.”

Dragonfly centers on a game-changing approach to planetary exploration, employing a rotorcraft-lander to travel between and sample diverse sites on this mysterious world. Dragonfly will characterize the habitability of Titan’s environment, investigate the progression of prebiotic chemistry in an environment where carbon-rich material and liquid water may have mixed for an extended period, and even search for chemical indications of whether water-based or hydrocarbon-based life once existed on Titan….
