Hilarious! After Posting A Prospectus Dumping 37 Miilion Shares… Stock Is Back At $36 After Hours…

This pump looks deeply suspicious: as we noted, it hit $53, pre market — from $30 Friday night… it fell through $40 by Noon, and after market traded below $36, when the dump was filed on EDGAR.

So almost all that “pump & drumpf” — took place in one session?!

Devin Nunes of all people well-knows there are federal laws (with 20 year stints!) against manipulating the price of the stock at a ’34 Act company — when you’re the CEO.

Tomorrow ought to be… an absolute hoot!

[Imagine if you were one of the rubes who committed to pay over $53 a share, at about 6 am EDT… only to see it trading below $36 by nightfall. Insane!]

G’night… grinning.

Hinderaker Knows The Deal: Vance Sinks The GOP Ticket.

Tangerine’s Veep choice finds me in a very happy place! Largely because it puts John in his… “sads”.

He chose an immature whyte dude/bro, a 30-something, nearly-no experience book writer / Ivy League lawyer (one who called Trump ”America’s Hitler” in the 2016 cycle, BTW!)… for his running mate.

This choice narrows, rather than widens his draw, nationwide. And Hinderaker says so tonight, in pretty acidic terms.

What’s not to love?

Why not just hand out the white-sheets / robes and hoods straight away, in Milwaukee tomorrow, boys?

Go ahead. Own it.

You now want to be… the Know Nuthins’ / Klan party. Is it possible Hinderaker is tiring of the stars and bars masks he’s worn for three decades? Possibly!

Flawless! And hilarious — Kamala Harris is… Churchill, compared to this bed-wetting… puppy.

[One could be forgiven for thinking that he’s on the ticket, primarily for next time… And by that I mean, 2032… After Mr. Biden wins his second term, and Kamala Harris serves some or all of two terms. (Either a partial of the leftover Biden term, or two full terms of her own.) Maybe by 2032, this pup will be ready for GOP “prime time…” to use John’s own turn of phrase.]

Out.

So… Clarence Thomas Sent Aileen Cannon A “Lawfare” Note, In His Dissent — And She Improperly Adopted It: It Will Be Appealed.

This would all be high satire / comedy, if it weren’t so patently obvious that the only “lawfare” underway in the US is by Federalist Society members / MAGA cultists… writing to one another in concurring / dissenting opinions (see at page 58, onward, there), that attract no other votes, and have zero effect, as to the force of law. [Except when dim-witted acolytes pick them up, and adopt them — but then, only for a moment.]

Aileen Cannon, as many predicted, took Clarence Thomas’ love letter to heart, this morning — just in time for the Milwaukee GOP convention. Charming.

Jack Smith will and should appeal. Not one of the then-sitting Right Wing Supremes made this stupid claim about Ken Starr, and the Whitewater investigation. Or about Russia interference and Mr. Mueller [And yes, Justice Thomas reviewed that Whitewater/Starr matter, nearly three decades ago, as well as the Mueller one.] I’ll link her opinion (to preserve a record of her partisan nonsense / judicial incompetence) but not otherwise quote her… gibberish. Here’s a press report, out of Miami, instead:

…The constitutionality of special counsels has repeatedly been tested and upheld in other courts. Challenges to special prosecutors that have investigated Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, have all been dismissed.

But Cannon took a novel approach to the former president’s legal argument, scheduling days of hearing and opening up the hearing to testimony from third parties to the case — a rarity in any federal trial court….

Whatever. Onward to the Eleventh Circuit. This power is both constitutional, and important to the checks and balances of our system of ordered liberty. Jack will win, on appeal — and Thomas will write a solo dissent, when it reaches the Supremes. But Ken Starr had the power, so again, Cannon will be handed her hind parts.

Y A W N.

Onward.

[U, X2 — Now Below $40!] What A Crock! This Is NOT “Pre-Market” Trading, At All… It Is Futures Markets (Asia). Drumpf: Pump & Dump…

Updated, by 6 am EDT — the stonk futures quote is already trimming its sails. Now below $46. End update.

In the grand scheme of things, it is only the rubes getting fleeced here, but even so — I’ll note it for the record.

Some outlets are implying that this is NASDAQ pre-market trading (speculative, in its own right) — when in fact these are Asian futures changing hands.

And to be certain, that is a “meme on meme” price. [Simply casino gambling — but rigged for the house.] One such rag puts it thus:

…It might also mean looser regulation for hot-button topics ranging from higher tariffs to climate change to cryptocurrency, and regressive taxation — especially if a so-called “Red Wave” materializes….

Trump Media & Technology (NASDAQ:DJT), which is known for its meme qualities and can follow Trump-related developments, also soared 71.5% to $50.95/share….

It may take a week or so for the dust (and ketchup) to settle, but DJT will continue to post vast losses — when it discloses Q2 in a few weeks, and it will fall back well below $20.

You’ve been warned: in our opinion, this is… a classic pump and dump scheme — (Tangerine backer-engineered!) of the most despicably cynical sort. On second thought, maybe we should call it a Pump & Drumpf. Onward.

So, Hey Billingsley: “Is This Your… Genuine De-escalation?!”

I just note for the record that Billingsley sees Mr. Biden as (Soviet Cold War / Bay of Pigs) Brezhnev, tonight.

Not exactly trying to treat all Americans as neighbors and friends, I gather. He’s already widely hinted that somehow Mr. Biden tried to kill Tangerine yesterday.

And that the shooter was part of a vast conspiracy (wholly unexplained and undocumented). [I won’t link that one of last night. It is… execrable.]

Overall — and consistently… what a feckless… putz, the gnome is.

[I should note in closing that Hinderaker (who never served, BTW) wanted to tell us within minutes of the shooting… what an expert on rooftop antiballistic security in large, crowded expanses he is. But of course. An ex-lawyer that thinks he’s an expert on… everything. How surprising. Not.]

Out.

We Now See That (Maybe) Dark Matter Equations Need Not Break The Standard Cosmological Models… Excellent New Analysis Of Hubble Data.

We almost always learn the most, when things do not turn out as… expected. Doubly so, in interstellar space science.

The qualities and behavior of dark matter, the invisible “glue” of the universe, continue to be shrouded in mystery. Though galaxies are mostly made of dark matter, understanding how it is distributed within a galaxy offers clues to what this substance is, and how it’s relevant to a galaxy’s evolution. This is one of those “enlightening moment” cases, based on a deeper look at some rather old Hubble data — from NASA’s Hubble team — do read it all:

…To learn about dark matter within a galaxy, scientists can look to its stars and their movements that are dominated by the pull of dark matter. A common approach to measure the speed of objects moving in space is by the Doppler Effect – an observed change of the wavelength of light if a star is approaching or receding from Earth. Although this line-of-sight velocity can provide valuable insight, only so much can be gleaned from this one-dimensional source of information.

Besides moving closer or further away from us, stars also move across the sky, measured as their proper motion. By combining line-of-sight velocity with proper motions, the team created an unprecedented analysis of the stars’ 3D movements.

“Improvements in data and improvements in modeling usually go hand in hand,” explained Roeland van der Marel of STScI, a co-author of the paper who initiated the study more than 10 years ago. “If you don’t have very sophisticated data or only one-dimensional data, then relatively straightforward models can often fit. The more dimensions and complexity of data you gather, the more complex your models need to be to truly capture all the subtleties of the data….”

This is excellent new work. And this entry puts us back on the footing of good, scientific space ju ju — here in our little shop.

I will predict a very “locked down” Milwaukee — and perhaps even a short form convention, this week, for the GOP. Onward.

Texas Ranked Worst State In Nation — By Far, On “Livabilty” Factors. John?!

I want to leave this here — since Hineraker so often touts it as a state that “works”.

Only for straight, younger whyte males with money, who identify as Republicans — apparently. [Fully one-fifth of all Texan adults have health care bills that have been sent to collections. By and large, they are not (uniformly) dead-beats. The Texas for profit promoting health care system forces people to sign over assets before entering a hospital for care. This is a monster of a policy. Intentional, by Gov. Abbott. Damn.]

But there is much more — do see this [and I’d note that Tennessee sits right near the bottom, with Texas — on all these dimensions. Do not lose a job there, or get… sick. Ugh.]:

Yes, we know. People are moving to the Lone Star State in droves. Some 220,000 educated workers moved there in 2022 alone, according to the Census Bureau. So how could we possibly score Texas at the bottom for Quality of Life? The fact is that people move to a state for any number of reasons. The ones arriving in Texas are encountering some serious livability issues, based on the data.

Take something as basic as health care. Texas ranks near the bottom in primary care providers per 100,000 residents at 182, according to the United Health Foundation. According to The Commonwealth Fund, Texas leads the nation — by far — in residents without health insurance, and a staggering 19% of all people with a credit score in Texas have medical debt that has gone to collections.

Those new Texans are also finding few protections in the law. Texas is another state with no public accommodation law barring discrimination against non-disabled people; it has passed a barrage of laws targeting the LGBTQ+ community; and its abortion ban is the strictest in the nation. Also, if any of those new Texas residents lose their jobs, state unemployment benefits cover less than 10% of the average cost of living, according to Oxfam America.

Might Texas’ restrictive policies trigger a backlash? There are some anecdotal accounts of people leaving the state over its abortion ban and its anti-LGBTQ+ laws. But for now, statistically speaking, people keep pouring into the state with America’s worst quality of life….

I realize that Hinderaker thinks no one but land owning whyte males, voting R — are the ones who “matter”. He’s in for a rude awakening in November.

See ya, chump.

We Have (Rightfully) Been A Harsh Critic — But This IS NOT How We Solve Our Differences, In America. Period.

Reports from the MSM are 100% consistent — to the effect that he is safe, and largely unharmed.

There will be no graphic here. [UPDATED — We will re-run the Hinderaker arson graphic, because we feel the same way about this, as we do about the January 2024 firebombing of Hinderaker’s offices in Minnesota. This has no place in American policy / political discussions or jaw-boning.]

And just as we said about J6, this sort of senseless violence has no place in our politics.

We condemn it — and we look forward to beating this man at the polls in November. We oppose his policies; and that will be the reason he loses in November — we have nothing else.
