In Which Mirengoff FINALLY Discovers “The Faux News Effect”. Hilarious!

So, for over two decades we’ve been writing about how the Murdochs, Roger Ailes, and Fox (and more recently), Brietbart and Bannon, et al. have been hood-winking the under-educated segment of primarily whyte America… on a wide range of topics.

But never more obviously than on topics economic.

Throughout the terror-reign of 45, these outlets touted the Dow’s rise (which only benefits about the top 5% of Americans), while 45 cut taxes on billionaires, spent wildly on crony contracts, and ran the deficit to 3X what it was under Mr. Obama. [And don’t get me started on the lunacy of 45’s tariff non-sequiturs.]

Then the bills all… came due. Just as obtained… under Bush/Cheney — and Reagan.

Democratic Presidents, each and all — cleaned it up. Fixed the corruption and insider dealing, and righted the ship. You’re welcome Paul.

But Fox especially (for over 20 years!) kept on lying about the ACTUAL economy — as experienced by middle America. They painted it as a horror-show, when it was nothing of the sort.

So too, today. Mr. Biden’s unemployment numbers are now better than Tangerine’s best two quarters. Yes, there is still some inflation, but the economy has actually recovered from Trumpian disaster-nomics.

Yet Mirengoff’s criticism amounts to a complaint that the people fed a diet of Fox News (et al.) still THINK the economy is tanking.

And thus he thinks GOP has a chance — essentially because people without even high school diplomas will BELIEVE things are far worse than they are.

Mediocre whyte guys blaming non-existent quota systems, for why they cannot keep a job. Ignorant whyte women believing all asylum seekers are drug dealers.

And so on.

It is true, Paul, the propagandists can sway the most gullible among us. But this time, well-educated suburban whyte women are turning out and in private voting for progress, not the Handmaids’ Tale version of AmeriKKKa the Foxers are selling.

Just look at the flame out of the constitutional “anti-abortion” vote in Ohio — your insane zealots went down to a 58-42 defeat.

That is a sea-change — a landslide — in favor of real women having control over their own bodies.

Educated, self-assured women (albeit perhaps secretive, given their souring marriages) — as many are married to highly-controlling MAGAt men… are voting (in the privacy of the voting booth!) — for progress. For Democrats. For Democratic (free) ideas.

The next morning, they likely express (entirely faux) befuddlement — to their idiot hubby: “How did the GOP… lose?!” Meanwhile, they KNOW exactly how. They are the change, you GOP idiots… THE Change you embittered old whyte guys inadvertently created — with these 19th Century culture agenda tests.

Hilarious.

So sure Paul… talk about what seventh grade educated whyte men believe — in the face of actually solid, real and utterly obliterating / conflicting data. The GOP is a dead, lying brand.

Out.

One Unmistakable Sign Of Creeping… Senility [Ridiculous Monday Fodder!]

…Is that the elderly person will try to “force fit” every new experience or event… into a previously-decided matrix.

The mind becomes brittle, in a word. It cannot evaluate new experiences, without “forcing” them to conform to one’s prior biases.

So it is, from a few years ago now (in truth), with Hinderaker.

Overnight he wrote about a wholly-imagined grand Liberal / Democratic conspiracy… [wait for it!] that involves utility customers in Colorado who VOLUNTARILY gave the utility the right to remotely control the Nest, or other internet connected thermostat… in their homes.

They did so in return for a reduction on all their monthly bills, year ’round — agreeing to be hard limited in certain peak demand scenarios. Agreeing in writing. [Remember that bedrock notion of “freedom of contract“, John?!] We may quibble about whether the customers were wise in doing so. But it is sheer lunacy to paint this as a liberal “new world order” solely because most of Colorado’s population leans blue.

Yet that is the ever-present, and forlorn (now, until he departs this blue orb)… Hinderaker. Everything is out to get him; to steal off with his 1940s sensibilities on all matters civic.

Amazing — and sad. He once was a passable intellect.

No longer.

Now Six Days Later, Candace Owens Farmer STILL Hasn’t Admitted That Her Specious Suit Against Zuckerberg, Et Al… Was Tossed On Its Ear.

Of course. We know. This will cut into her fundraising goals — since she’s been laughed out of Delaware court, on her claims against Facebook. [Backgrounder of mine, here.] She is one. . . brazen huckster, to be certain. It may be weeks before she updates her trashy web-site, for the “bounced out of court” news.

Here it is — in any event:

. . .The judge ruled earlier this week that Owens had failed to state an actionable claim against USA Today or Lead Stories LLC, a Colorado-based entity. Lead Stories, like USA Today, is paid by Facebook to publish fact-check articles examining whether certain posts contain false information, according to the court ruling. Dozens of outside organizations, including The Associated Press, participate in Facebook’s fact-checking program. . . .

Karsnitz also said Owens, a public figure, failed to show that Lead Stories had published a false statement and did so with actual malice. The judge also ruled that Owens failed to adequately plead that the defendants improperly or wrongfully interfered with the performance of the contract between her and Facebook. “A tortious interference claim cannot survive if the claim is premised solely on statements that are protected by the First Amendment because the exercise of constitutionally protected speech cannot be an ‘improper’ or ‘wrongful’ action. . . .”

She is one. . . dented, damaged, and malignant piece of work. Onward, grinning — on, to a perfect Summer Sunday’s morning. . . . be excellent to one another.
