Reverse Discrimination “Is Much More Entrenched Than Discrimination Against Blacks Was, In 1954”?!

The above is Hinderaker’s concluding statement, verbatim — in a fatuous piece about how put upon whyte ppl have become, in the second decade of the the 21st Century.

The quote is self-effacing, to be certain. Thinking back over the last two years, I don’t recall EVER seeing hundreds and hundreds of whyte ppl being lynched month after month, night after night… as was not uncommon before the 1950s, in the rural South. I do not recall Black people ENSLAVING whyte ppl, for five centuries minimum.

I do recall, though, that on Christmas Day 1951, in Mims, Florida, Harry Tyson Moore, a civil rights leader, and his wife were the victims of Ku Klux Klan terror, when a bomb exploded in their home, assassinating them both. On Christmas Day — their silver wedding anniversary.

I do recall that there were NO black students in the public land grant universities at Alabama, Mississippi and Arkansas and Kentucky. Not one. I do recall that as late as 1955, the coach Adolph Rupp, at University of Kentucky, refused to play his all-white squads against any integrated opponent basketball team (and consider the 1963 national championship Chicago’s Loyola won against Mississippi State). I recall endless lines of 1950s lunch counters — where ordering a milkshake… was to take your very life in your hands… depending on just how bad the whytes nearby… felt like being.

I also recall… a million other mostly-heinous things. But I genuinely cannot recall, even at any historically-Black college (since people of color were DENIED seats at the land grant universities in the same state!), a single campus where no whyte ppl were/are allowed to enroll. Ever. Not once.

But being from a wealthy Dakotan all-whyte town, and family, John has absolutely no frame of reference as to what 1954 was like, in Black America. None.

He should just. STFU.

Not surprisingly, he also feels the government of Belgium has nothing to apologize for, in the Free State of Congo era, either — despite the shockingly graphic photographic evidence (at right).

DAMNATION.

Hinderaker ALSO Cannot Understand: “Finding” Is Different Than… Stealing, And Lying About It.

John Hinderaker channels Scott Johnson, here tonight.

But Hinderaker’s take is just like that of Jim Trusty, Tangerine’s chuckleheaded lawyer: “this is a case of some overdue library books — nothing more.”

He says that solely to conflate a “finding”… with stealing documents — and then lying about it (Trump) for a year and a half.

Damnation.

Hinderaker comically tries to make the instant return by Team Biden of a handful of documents (within 24 hours of being alerted to their existence!) equivalent to lying for 18 months, and withholding thousands of Top Secret documents, down in a basement at Mar-A-Lago.

Uh-huh.

Also, Biden (of course) dutifully complied with a DoJ policy not to discuss an investigation that was ongoing, since it could have at least arguably tipped off the staffers that might — emphasis, might — have been negligent or worse, in this matter. That explains the silence since early November: Mr. Biden has complied immediately — and is complying tonight, in real time, with all applicable law, and all DoJ investigation rules and procedures.

So shut it, John.

“But wait! There’s more!” Note that Trump flat out stole Top Secret documents, and flat out refused to return them until a raid was needed to get them back. Now note that two days ago, Trump (on his dying social media site, no less) argued that this immediate return is something Mr. Biden should be PROSECUTED for. [Where irony goes… to die.]

Hilarious.

What a lying fool Hinderaker is. As is Scott Johnson. Damn.

Merck Now Owns Imago’s Oncology Platform Portfolio…

We first mentioned this oncology pipeline enhancing transaction about three months ago.

Merck has now completed the tender offer, with nearly 90 per cent of all Imago shares having been purchased for cash, and thus redeemed, and Imago has been delisted from the NASDAQ and SEC as of yesterday’s close.

Another one in the books:

… Merck… today announced the successful completion of the cash tender offer, through a subsidiary, for all of the outstanding shares of common stock of Imago BioSciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: IMGO), at a purchase price of $36.00 per share in cash, without interest and subject to deduction for any required tax withholding. As of the tender offer expiration at one minute after 11:59 p.m., Eastern Time, on January 10, 2023, 31,307,028 shares of common stock of Imago were validly tendered and not withdrawn from the tender offer, representing approximately 89.2% of the total number of Imago’s outstanding shares on a fully diluted basis.

All such shares have been accepted for payment in accordance with the terms of the tender offer, and Merck expects to promptly pay for such shares….

Now you know — out, grinning. Ever, grinning.

Steve Johnson: Lawyer, Willfully Ignorant On Differences Between 18 Month Long Thefts — And 24 Hour Return Of Classified Documents.

Okay. Let’s do this. Village idiots hour, at the GOP, again.

In this post, the malevolent moron Johnson comically tries to make the instant return by Team Biden of a handful of documents (within 24 hours of being alerted to their existence!) equivalent to lying for 18 months, and withholding thousands of Top Secret documents, down in a basement at Mar-A-Lago.

Uh-huh.

Also, Biden (of course) dutifully complied with a DoJ policy not to discuss an investigation that was ongoing, since it could have at least arguably tipped off the staffers that might — emphasis, might — have been negligent or worse, in this matter. That explains the silence since early November: Mr. Biden complied immediately with all applicable law, and all DoJ investigation rules and procedures.

“But wait! There’s more!” Note that Trump flat out stole Top Secret documents, and flat out refused to return them until a raid was needed to get them back. Now note that yesterday Trump (on his dying social media site, no less) argued that this immediate return is something Mr. Biden should be PROSECUTED for. [Where irony goes… to die.]

Hilarious.

Yet Jim Trusty, Tangerine’s lawyer in the thousands of pages of Top Secrets docs cases, just three months ago… called Trump’s thefts just an “overdue library book or two“, before Judge Cannon, in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Further, he argued that NARA cannot make any criminal referral, and that DoJ DHS cannot prosecute any putative violation of NARA statute or rule.

So now, when Biden seems to have immediately complied with laws that Trump’s team (Trusty, primarily!) argues can never be the basis of criminal charges against a former CoC… (even after 18 months of lying about having docs) he calls for — yup, an indictment.

Gee Scott — it is just so, so precious that not one word of your post in any manner mentions any of this.

Predictable — and charming, to be sure.

Out.

Hinderaker: Hypocrite On Deficit Spending…

Tonight, John whines about Democratic ideal social programs — and deficit spending — at the federal level.

Suddenly, he pretends to care about the federal deficit.

For four long years, he wrote exactly zero posts, as Tangerine set about intentionally ballooning the federal deficits — vastly eclipsing anything seen under Mr. Obama or Mr. Clinton.

And eclipsing Bush 41 and 43.

Yet… the only posts John has ever written on deficits… blame only Democrats.

So… in sum, he’s a fake / crisis actor.

Cheers.

Well. That’s… Rich! Texas Gov. Abbott Complaining About “Violations” Of Federal Laws…?

Hinderaker — and that malevolent moron governing Texas… seem to forget that the latter’s intentional kidnapping — and transportation, of people awaiting “credible fear” hearings… is itself a felony. An intentional violation of civil rights, under color of Texas and Florida state law (by supposed law officers). Damn.

These guys are just… pure charlatans.

They dump hundreds humans without papers half a country away, on Xmas Eve, penniless like garbage — at the Veep’s home in sub zero snowy weather… and THEN have the gall to complain about the humane priories set by 46, in early 2023?!

Wow. Just… wow. They are forcing detainees to miss federal immigration status hearings in Texas, Arizona and Florida. As a state-level policy.

Out.

Deplorable: Republicans Assaulted One Another On The House Floor Tonight. Not Seen Since 1856 & Slavery…

To be clear, each previous forcible assault and battery, in the dark past moments of US Congressional history, involved combatants from opposing parties.

Astonishingly tonight, it was two Republican men, in a scrum around Gaetz and Boebert. It was a physical battle, all part and parcel of the internecine warfare of MAGA GOP v. Regular GOP.

Especially disgusting, when weighed on the scales of history:

…The 1850s saw the House bitterly divided over the issue of slavery, which led to one of the more incendiary and violent events in congressional history.

On May 22, 1856, Representative Preston Brooks of South Carolina entered the Senate Chamber and repeatedly struck Senator Charles Sumner of Massachusetts over the head with a cane.

The assault was in reaction to a speech in which Sumner criticized slavery and the Senators who supported it, including Andrew Butler, a relative of Brook….

Preston Brooks — now along with Gaetz and Boebert. Those names will all live… in infamy, in US Congressional history — as instigators of the 01.06.21 insurrection, and the ugly physical assaults here in the same chambers, on its second anniversary.

Damnation.

[U: Fail, Again! 15, more to come!] Hinderaker: UN-Intentionally Hilarious.

Nope — Update — no Speaker until after midnight, at the earliest.

As the GOP House Speaker debacle looks to end over now seven days after it started… and at least 14 15 failed votes later… John asks if “the clown show may be finally ending” — at the GOP controlled US House.

My answer: only if you stop writing about politics, Mr. Hinderaker.

Only… then.

Out.

Trump’s Lawyers Sternly Admonished — And Ridiculed. And, Ivanka And Trump Cannot Be Dismissed Out Of The NYAG Civil Frauds Actions.

To be sure — this order must be read simply as… an act of mercy, on the able Justice’s part.

He likely well knows that these lawyers have positively the worst client on the planet — one who ignores advice and insists on repeatedly making plainly frivolous, unlawful claims — as the “blood-oath” price, for representing him.

So it is that the courts will not grant any Trump motions to dismiss the litigation; and will not allow Ivanka to escape liability for her allegedly fraudlent dealings with, and showings to… the fleeced banks (which yielded a ~$10 million profit to her, personally!)… but (mercifully) he will not impose sanctions, on the hapless crew of 10 or so lawyers for Trumpworld.

So — the whole thing will now go before a jury. And Tangerine’s team will lose — and lose badly, on civil frauds in New York.

That’s clearly the correct result, but do read the able Justice’s opinion and order, to see just how politely… elegant… he has been… (saying he knows he has impressed his point upon them, by forcing 24 hour written answers), and in not calling the bar authorities — on these Tangerine lawyers. Wow.

Enjoy the first weekend of 2023, one and all — grilling some serious brats here, this evening! Smile….

A Rather [Q] Sad Sign O’ The Times: Someone FAKED A Report Of A Suspected Ebola Case, At A DC Area Hospital, Yesterday… Damn.

Reuters has definitively debunked the claimant, a Twitter “alt-news” source — with over 43,000 followers.

And, I seriously considered not mentioning it at all — but the idea that up to 43,000 DC area ordinary folks might be misled into believing there had been even a potential ebola case in the metro area… led me to post the proof of its utter falsity.

Here is the whole of the Reuters fact checking item, quoting the President of GW Hospital — and truly, I am loath to spread negativity (especially on the second anniversary of that awful day in DC), but some difficult things… must be said, for the good of us all:

…There is no evidence of a patient testing positive for the Ebola virus at The George Washington (GW) University Hospital in Washington, D.C., health officials told Reuters. Users online are sharing a claim that the hospital is no longer accepting patients out of concern over a possible Ebola outbreak.

Examples of users sharing images of a tweet that reads, “BREAKING NEWS: GW HOSPITAL isn’t accepting no patients due to a possible EBOLA OUTBREAK. Also Washington Hospital Center has no bed space with a line out the door” can be seen on Facebook (here) and (here).

A Google search for the tweet from Jan. 4 in the image leads to a link on Twitter that appears to have been deleted (here)….

As I say… these are sad times, in some ways — but with the Uganda “all clear” to come in about 40 hours’ time now — I want to be sure that we focus on telling the truth about all bio-science events. And non-events.

It would not strain credulity to figure this was a Q-Anon directed attempt, on the second anniversary of that deplorable day. But now you know.
