So… these are the inflections moments… when things feel… a little discouraging.

A 49 year old man who traveled recently from Nigeria — and landed in Mauritius — is now in hospital in Port Louis, the capital. CIDRAP (again!) has the scoop, thus:

…Mauritius on October 26 announced its first mpox case, which involves a 49-year-old man who had traveled from Nigeria, according to a government announcement translated and posted by FluTrackers, an infectious disease news message board. The patient is being treated in isolation at a hospital in Port Louis.

The report didn’t note the clade of the virus. The country’s case brings the number of African nations reporting mpox cases this year to 19….

Now you know. Onward — to an otherwise wonderful week ahead. Grin.

Please excuse the thin appearance, here. This was to be a back up site, until blog.com came back online. But that seems unlikely now, so this has become the main site. In truth, those old posts have little relevance to today's electoral politics, except in so far as they suggest very little has changed over time -- in Mr. Hinderaker's world-view. He remains pretty regularly delusional -- since at least 2002. And that is not just a coincidence -- as one nation, we elected Mr. Obama a few years later, and Mr. Hinderaker has never recovered -- to a reality based view of America. America is now a more centrist nation, than the one he lauded under Reagan and Bush 41, 43 and 45. So be it. 45 will now be gone by November. COVID-19 has shown even the ardent partisans 45 is an emperor with no clothes.
