EmptyWheel is doing the nation a service here — by showing us how (it is at least possible that) his therapist (later discovered to be a Fox operative) may well have, or have had others in his office assume control of the digital communications, by mirroring his devices and logging in as him — for several months, prior to the drop off at GeekSquad.
Do read all of hers, but the John, Paul, Scott, Bitsy and Steve foursome better be able to explain all of this, before they make more libelous allegations, about him:
…I found this request as part of my effort to figure out which iCloud accounts were run by which devices during the period — roughly January 14 to February 15, 2019 — when his digital life was being taken over and packaged up as part of a huge political hit job to be used against his father the following year.
It was surprisingly common for Hunter Biden to access Uber by logging in using a browser from a Mac computer, not the phone app. I’m not an Uber user, but isn’t the point that the service relies on tracking you via your phone and its location data?
But when Hunter Biden logged into Uber using his phone, the normal way, he appears to have used his cell service. Again, the normal way.
But on December 3, 2018, Hunter Biden logged into Uber using some Comcast network — not his cell service — in Newburyport MA, in the town but not the exact location where Dr. Ablow’s practice was; this also appears to be a different location from where Hunter would stay in January, as well….
In sum, Marcy makes a very credible (if inferential) case that there was a concerted effort to mix genuine laptop data, with “astro-turfed” data — and then smear it all together, to create the equivalent of the Steele Dossier — some genuine, and ALSO some clearly-bogus bits.
Though we now know — it was clearly the MAGAts’ intention to have all of the bits believed as “genuine” — after the GeekSquad incident.
Well who did it?
Who cares, really? — the point is… the data is not reliable, as it cannot be authenticated as from a single chain of unassailable custody. Sure the salacious pics and video are of him, but the more concerning supposed texts (about influence in matters) may very well turn out to have been digital “plants” — by people who knew his therapist. BTW, that therapist lost his license for among other things, charging several female patients for “therapy sessions” in which he chose to force them to have rough sex with him.
So — in time, this laptop thing is going to evaporate, straight out of its own misty origins.
That’s my opinion.
[BTW, Confidential Note, to Scott — it is not in any manner “censorship” — for a private party to decide NOT to amplify nonsense Matt T. or anyone else spouts. Out.]
