Amazon Loses Round One, At NLRB Hearings — On JFK8 Union Vote…

The board’s hearing officer panel, sitting in Phoenix, has preliminarily determined that nothing will overcome the 2-1 win the ALU posted at JFK8, and so… collective bargaining should begin “immediately”.

For his part, Mr. Smalls plans a march to Mr. Bezos’ residence this weekend (Labor Day), since the company has already appealed this preliminary decision (per CNN):

Amazon has lost the first round in its effort to overturn a historic union victory at a Staten Island facility.

A National Labor Relations Board officer who heard Amazon’s objections recommended that the vote be upheld….
